Posted: 04/14/06 - 02:30 Post subject: Jelly-like vaginal discharge |
|
|
Hi, for the past 2 weeks or so I've been having very jelly-like vaginal discharge!!! anywheres from small long stringy types to thick chunks the size of a gobstopper!!! About 2 months ago i got treated for trich, a minor vaginal bacterial infection...it's a sti (sexually transmitted infection) i took meds for it and it went away. the symptoms of having an infection are still fresh in my mind, but i'm not having any of the same one, therefor i don't think its just another infection!!! i dont like wearing underwear, but i haven't been wearing uderwear, unless on my period, for about 5 years now, could this just be a prolonged result? but because of this discharge, i don't want to have sex w/my boyfriend, he touched it even (i haven't told him anything is diff!) and he made a comment on how sticky it was down there!!! i'm so embarrassed and don't know what to do! i've been thoroughly cleaning it and trying to take good care of it, but sometimes these jelly clots will even seep down my leg at any given time!!! I wonder if I could be pregnant...but i hate spending money on those tests! another factor that could be a result of this, is that i've never in my entire life used protection, i'm not a dirty or grody person, just never convenient. I also thought, maybe it's just build up of semen from my boyfriend, but how come then it's never happend before!?! Will somebody plz be able to explain what might be wrong!!! and email me at *********** thank you for you time!!![/b]

I've been noticing a jelly like, mucous from my vagina also. It doesn't always go into my underwear and hangs out on the inner labias. I've been treated for BV, Trich and Yeast before. Could this be the "return" of all three. I don't think my BV was ever cured, it's ALWAYS moist down there.
BUT, the new mucous stuff is very CLEAR and doesn't stink, so it doesn't seem like yeast or trich.
I'm celibate because of this...i feel like I will remain so for my whole life because I can't get control of the wetness down "there". I don't trust my vagina and have no idea of what is going there. I went to a gyno for 3 months and she didn't help me at all.
Are there vaginitis specialists I could go to?
Could this train wreck of moisture and mess ups lead to future problems with having children?
Sorry for all the questions...please help!
The mucous, the dischange, the slight itch/pain (everyonce in awhile) has GOT TO GO! Please HELP! |

Actually for many women a jelly like mucous means you are fertile.
Please consider protection.. I am 24 So I am not someone who is far away from your age =) SEX IS FUN! AND great... But pregnancy is'nt. You do not need parnetal consent for birth control, and it is much cheaper than a 375$ abortion, or 13,000$+ for labor delivery and childbirth...Which if your parnets make a lot of money you can't even get medicaid. |

I feel your pain guys so I decided to research it
I copied this from a website about Cervical Mucus.....hope it helps!
The present estimate is that about 5 per cent of female infertility is due to problems with cervical mucus. That means that a substantial number of women have mucus problems.
What is cervical mucus and what does it do?
The cervical mucus is a jelly-like substance produced by tiny glands in the cervical canal, which leads from the vagina into the uterus. The mucus acts effectively like a cork in the cervix and may prevent bacteria getting into the uterine cavity. It changes in chemical composition and consistency during the menstrual cycle. During the first half of the cycle before ovulation, when the hormone Oestrogen is produced in ever-increasing amounts, the mucus made by the cervical glands becomes more watery and copious. Large amounts are produced immediately before ovulation. Some women make so much at this time that they can see it as a watery vaginal discharge. Then it can be a pointer in working out the exact day of ovulation, as normally this discharge lasts about twelve to thirty-six hours. Sperm can penetrate the watery mucus and when intercourse takes place, they swim through it into the uterus.
After ovulation the quality of the mucus changes. The ovary now starts to make the hormone progesterone. Mucus produced under progesterone influence is thicker and more sticky; there is also less of it. This mucus is impenetrable to sperm. This is one reason why intercourse after ovulation is not fertile, even though an egg may be waiting in the fallopian tube.
It has been calculated that, even when intercourse occurs at the time the cervical mucus is at its most favourable, only about 1 in every 2000 sperm enter the mucus. The rest stay in the vagina, where they die. This is because the vaginal fluid is naturally acid, which is not suitable for sperm. Those that have entered the mucus can survive there for long periods - certainly for several days after intercourse. Once in the cervical 'mucus, they steadily escape from it into the uterus over a period of at least 72 hours. So the cervical mucus can act as a kind of reservoir, to be called on if intercourse does not take place at the best time. |

| I have the same problem! I have a bunch of jelly like substance coming out of me n big globs. The thing is I haven't had sex in months, so I know it's not an STD(I have been checked), so I don't know what the problem is. I don't like it whatever it is. It's like sticky and it comes in clumps. |

I've been with my b/f for 2 and a half years so didn't think it was an sti but was just worried so seen as he's out thought I wouold look into it, I was going to speak to the doc's but was too embarassed.
It's so funny that some of the same thoughts went throught my head as to what it could be ie; A build -up of sperm, well its good to know I AM NORMAL well ish!!!
Oh Im 23 and from UK been with partner for 2 and a half years
Thanks, |
