My daughter takes Keppra for a seizure disorder. Her dose was increased to 3000 mg. per day recently, and she has had lots of gas, abdominal, heartburn and lower stomach pain and constipation. She has struggled with these symptoms in the past, but they have increased recently. Has anyone else experienced these symptoms while on Keppra? These symptoms are listed as rare for this drug but just wondered if anyone else has experienced them.

We represent "Unauthorized Ad", an on-line company supplying customized vitamin supplements to the USA and we hope this information may be of interest to you.

Digestion of food is the primary function of the gastro-intestinal (GI) tract. Without proper digestion, nutritional deficiencies can result and chronic disease may occur.

The following nutritional components may be beneficial in maintaining a healthy GI system. Vitamin B Complex 50, Lactobacillus Acidophilus, Omega - 3 Fatty Acids and Enzymes are known to be essential to maintain normal digestion processes. N-Acetyl L-Cysteine is a detoxifier for the GI system and promotes damaged GI tract healing. Licorice and Ginger can help to protect the GI tract by decreasing inflammation and forming a physical barrier against stomach acid or other abdominal irritants. Ginger has anti-inflammatory and anti-nausea properties and has been shown to enhance normal, spontaneous movements of the intestines thereby aiding digestion.

Dr. Balch works with "Unauthorized Ad" to provide custom-made natural remedies for anyone who wants an all-in-one daily supplement that addresses all their health concerns, as well as providing the vitamins and minerals needed for optimum health and wellness. We include formula for 680 different health concerns in our database.

If you are concerned or unsure about your symptoms, please contact your healthcare provider for professional medical advice.

I found these posts while searching for answers...I have recently been put on Keppra after brain surgery. I have had Irritable Bowel Syndrome for 15 years, but it was pretty much under control before this. The Keppra is making it flare up, all can stomach is toast and bananas without getting very sick. It sounds like IBS may be the culprit, and Keppra makes it worse. Check this out--www.ibstreatmentcenter.com my husband and I are undergoing allergy testing to see if it could be the cause. Have you tried other anti-seizure meds with any luck?
