Kidney infection and starting to spot

I have been diagnosed with a severe kidney infection. I had severe pain in my lower back and noticed the urge to urinate more frquently. I started antibiotics 2 days ago. I still have some pain but it is much improved. I do notice however I am starting to spot (brownish colour) and my period is not due for 5 days. Could this be a symptom of something else?. Confused

Certain types of antibiotics can throw your menstrual cycle out of whack. You didn't mention what type of antibiotics you were on, but I know personally that anything other than penicillin will cause my cycle to start early or late.
Your body is so busy trying to fight the infection in your kidney's, that it may have thrown your hormones out of control.
Of course, always check with your doctor if you are concerned.
