Hi. Kids with lactose intolerance should avoid foods with ingredients such as milk, milk solids, whey, casein and lactose. Don`t give him liquid milk or cream. All milk is excluded. My daughter is also lactose intolerance. She has to avoid cheeses, all types of yogurt, creamed and milk based soups, sauces, gravies and milk puddings, pancakes, waffles, muffins and biscuits made with milk. Kids with Lactose Intolerance cannot eat ice cream, ice milk, sherbet, chocolate and anything with chocolate. However, they can eat plain meats, fruits and veggies, pastas, rice, barley, dried legumes and potatoes. Kids with Lactose Intolerance can also use Mocha mix, the only available milk substitute. When my daughter wants to drink it, I usually add some water, because the taste is too rich to drink. Soy milk formulas can be used. She can also eat hard candy, but she hates it. Tea is allowed too.
