Hello,
My grandfather has been diagnosed with kienbock's disease. I don’t know what Kienbock's disease is. Is anyone here with experience?

Hi,
Kienbock's disease results from loss of circulation of the lunate bone of the wrist (lunate is one of the small bones of the hand near the wrist). It may be painful, that is why many people with Kienbock's disease think at first they have a sprained wrist. Kienbock's disease may result in progressive wrist arthritis. The thing is- bone, in Kienbock's disease case a lunar bone, is a living tissue that requires a regular supply of blood otherwise the bone can “die”- this is a condition known as osteonecrosis. There are 4 stages of Kienbock's disease (determined by doctor) and many operations for this problem. Usually Kienbock's disease is solved surgically.
