Hi. I am scheduled with knee reconstruction. I would like to hear from somebody with experience more about operative procedure. How long will it take for me to recover? How long does the procedure last?

Hi. Knee Reconstruction is done through 3 small incisions over the front of your knee. Any damage can be treated, trust me. The procedure takes an hour to be performed. Surgeons will use arthroscope. In some cases they have to remove or repair the damaged meniscus. After the surgery, you will have a nice ice pack around your knee to reduce pain and swelling, for 2 days. I was able to get up the very next day after the surgery. Braces are not needed in most cases. I was home 2 days after knee reconstruction. You will need crutches only for 2 weeks.
