I had a VMO advancement and lateral release done in October. I do not think the surgery worked. My knee is still popping. Fri. nite my knee popped so bad..it hurts to put any weight on it and it is swollen down my leg. My mom wont let me go to the hospital(Im away at college) she told me to wait til I come home in 2 weeks and see my surgeon since the hospital mite not do nething since i had surgery back home 6 hrs away. has this happened to anyone else? what can i do? any info./advice is appreciated! I am in immense pain!

Though your mom said no, i would at least see a general physician and get an opinion if anything. I've heard many stories of knee surgeries not working and only making it worse if anything. So it doesn't really suprise me, but i would still get it checked out by a physician to see what they think is up. Doesn't mean they will assign you to surgery if you go in. They aren't legally able to do so without your consent. So if you go in just for an examination and opinion. Thats all they can do. Don't see how your mother could have a problem with that.
