One side is tight, nice and pink, while the other is long, protrudes, and is purple-y and wrinkly. It not only affects me physically, but emotionally also. I've been stressing about this from day one, and I really want labiaplasty done. I am only 16 years old, and I have no money. I am to scared/embarassed to talk to anyone about this. I dont go to the gyno.. so I cant talk to her about it. I want to do it when I turn 18 (so I can do it without anyone knowing) but I am afraid that I will not have enough money (due to college and whatnot).

I am also prone to keloids. I already have one, will having surgery on my labia minora be bad for me? Will keloids form?

Please help, thanks.

It sounds like you really should consult a gynocologist. Your health insurance may pay for it if you have pain associated. Many plastic surgeons can help you arrange a payment plan. Only a Dr. can answer your questions with any certainty. Best of luck

I juts turned 21 and I kno how you feel, i have the same problem w/ mine. both of them are the same size, but they hang out of me probably about 6cm. it is really embarressing and physically uncomfortable. but the emtional aspect of it is ruining my life.
I finally talked to my mom about it, she was pretty upset that it took me about 10 years to come to her w/ this problem. so she scduled me an appt w/ her gyno for a 3rd option (i have already had 2 consults w/ plastic surgeons)
the gyno was completely agaisnt seeing a PS, he wanted to do it for me in the hosp. He was completely comfortable w/ the op my appt is set. my only regret is waiting so long.

okay...first of all you should NOT be embarrased to talk to the gyn about this because that's his job. If you really want to solve this problem, you can look up gynecologists in your city online and make an appointment as soon as you can. Then you present them the problem. That's what i did. I had an appointment with one gyn who left me completely discouraged so i found another one and to my surprise he helped me with my surgery and also insurance paid for everything. I'm pretty open so i told my mom and my best friends about it. I'm actually going to see my gyn for a checkup cause i'm not completely satisfied with my results and i want to see if i can get another one done which i highly doubt...either way im very happy i had the surgery because now things are much much better then before. good luck & take care

i also have just got labiaplasty sugery about a week ago. the first couple of days were hard but not unbearable. the swellling and brusing have gone down alot, but recently i have developed a ball of skin under by my stitches, and its kind of hard. it normal color but there is alittle pain only in that spot. i wanted to know if this has happened to anyone, if its just more swelling or can it be scar tissue that wont go away!!! every else looks great but now iam worried about this

I have the EXACT same problem as you! One of mine is nice, tight, pink, and normal looking, but then the other one is wrinkley, pinkish purple, and huge and sticks out, and I hate it! I'm considering telling my mom about so I can possibly get surgery. If anyone has had surgery to get your labia reduced, can you tell me about it? Do they put you to sleep when they do it? Does it hurt afterwards? Were there any problems?

Hey Girlygirl,

I had my labiaplasty surgery on july 29, and I have two bumps only on my right labia like the one you described having. Its been over 6 weeks since the surgery and my bumps are still very tender. I was wondering if yours eventually went away and if it did, how long did it take for it to go away? I talked to my doctor and he said that they are because I may still have deep stitches in my labia (although there are none that I can see). So I am not really trusting him right now. I just wanted to ask someone who has and hopefully had my problem. thanks
