Late period, brown spotting and negative test

Hi, I am 20 years old and my boyfriend and I have been having using only condoms as our source of protection. Last night after being two days late on my period, I found that I was bleeding lightly and it was brown. I took a pregnancy test this morning and it was negative. I have been thinking it is the stress I've been going through this past week-- financial and pregnancy worries. But I want to know for sure what all of this means. Is it the stress or am I pregnant?

The pregnancy test should have been accurate from the day that you missed your period. Stress can definitely delay a period.. I have stressed myself into making myself late too! Brown bleeding is sometimes a sign of your period about to start... the old blood coming out first. Best of luck with everything... try to relax!
