I have had latent TB since 1 was 12 and Hep B since I was 16 (I am now in my 50s). I was treated for TB when I first contracted it. I went through some extensive testing a few years ago and was told my Hep B count was too low for treatment. My question is, as I age, what are the odds of my immune system failing, and one or both of these diseases becoming acute? Also, does having these two diseases increase my changes of getting cancer? Even with my low Hep B count, what are the odds of me transmitting this sexually? What can I do to strengthen my immune system?
