I live in a 2 family house. My parents, younger sister and I live downstairs and my Uncle and his wife and kids live upstairs. My cousin is 23 years old and her parents have told her that it is time to move out on her own. They gave her 2 month to get a job and find her own place. She has just graduated from college and stays out till 3 in the morning partying with her friends. She drinks and smokes weed. She has even spent the night with her boyfriend and her parent do not like that. She puts the music on very loud late at night. She is also panhandling on the subway, going over the limit on her credit card and has even stolen money from her parents' bank account. Her parents pay for everything and they were planning to send her to Europe to study. She does not want to get a job and live on her own, she is afraid. Traditionally, people especially the women, live at home till marriage. Therefore she would be the first unmarried woman in her family to live on her own. Every time she is told that she has to go live on her own, she get very crazy to the point of mutalating herself. She is also afraid because she has diabetes and feels she cant live on her own because it would be to stressful for her and put her life in danger. She wants to stay home till she is married but feel that she should live on her own so that she would learn to be responsible. She does not want to live by herself. What advise do you have for her.
