Hi, my brother is diagnosed with lens dislocation. He had blurred vision, so doctor examined him with a slit-lamp. Can someone tell me is this condition dangerous?

There are partial and complete lens dislocations. Partial are easier to treat, and prognosis are better. If your brother has blurred vision, there is a possibility that his lens has become totally detached, and maybe that it’s floating in the vitreous. One of the common causes of Lens Dislocation is quivering iris, because of the lack of lens support. There are also a head trauma and Marfan syndrome. If there are no complications like iritis and glaucoma, Lens Dislocation is much easier to teat. Surgery is often the last option, but reading lenses are recommended. Aphakic glasses in combination with atropine sulfate can also be use in treating lens dislocation.
