Is there any link between alopecia and nail loss?

Hello! As far as I know alopecia doesn’t make you lose nails but it may be influences your nails in a different way.
In a person who suffers from alopecia, it may happen that nails become pricked as if there were some pits in them. Besides these pits, the nail surface may start to split or they may become extremely red. It depends from person to person. It doesn’t appear in all people who suffer from alopecia.
These nail abnormalities can appear both on fingernails and toenails. Very rarely the nails become totally twisted or distorted.
The hair and occasionally nails are all that gets affected in alopecia. No other body parts get affected.
