Hi, I had a large kidney stone and went to a treatment by ultrasonic waves (lithotripsy). But, when I got home from the hospital I have noticed the blood in my urine and got scared. Not sure what to do? Is there somebody with experience who could tell me is that a normal thing after lithotripsy or not?

Hi, I had lithotripsy also and blood in your urine is a minor complication that can occur within a few days after the treatment. I had no complications at all, only some discomfort, but the pain got returned and I went to see my doctor again. He told me that my lithotripsy wasn`t really successful and that I will have to go on additional treatment. I was full of doubt and asked for a second opinion. After reassuring that it will all end up just fine, I went to a shock wave treatment again. Now everything is ok but I drink more fluid then ever because I fear of creating a new stone in my kidney.
