Hi, my very good friend had car accident last week. His right leg was broken, same as three ribs and he had spine injury. After the accident he was transferred to the hospital immediately. When I have visited him his doctor told me that he suffers Loss of motor functions in his legs. I would like to know if there is something that may be done.

Hi, my father also had similar injury several years ago. His legs stayed paralyzed since then and his sphincters were affected too. He went on physical therapy for almost a year but improvement was small. He ended in the wheel chair. For such a patient only treatment is in prevention of complications which may be caused by their inability to move. They need to exercise breathing, to stretch their arms and exercise their upper part of body.
