|
|
Hi. I am only 35 and I am in my pre-menopause. I don`t want to blindly use birth control pills, like many women do. I still have periods (irregular). Anyway, I have two kids and I want to prevent unintended pregnancies. Can I use low dose birth control pills in my pre-menopause?

Hi. In pre-menopause, the use of a highly effective contraceptive is necessary, if you want to prevent another pregnancy. Irregular periods mean that you can still become pregnant. Hormonal contraceptive methods and the intrauterine device are the best methods of contraception. Hormonal contraception has its` risks, but if you are a healthy woman, you can use it safely. I am in my 40s and I use low-dose pills with small amounts of hormones.
