Hi all,
I have recently been diagnosed with a low EF and I am scheduled to have my gallbladder removed. When I first started having pain, I figured it was gallstones, but after all the testing it came back as pretty much non-functioning.
My question is; What is actually happening inside my body to cause the typical gallbladder pain that I am experiencing? The concept behind gallstones is fairly easy to understand, but I do not understand what is happening in the case of low EF.
Is the gallbladder holding an abundance of bile, swelling, etc? Where does the bile go? Is a lot released all at once, etc? It often feels like I can feel the pain tracing down my side, where the ducts empty into the intestines and pancreas. This made sense if it were gallstones, but why would I feel that pain with low EF?
I guess it's the curious side of my nature, but it is driving me crazy that I cannot find a simple answer on the web. I keep telling myself to ask my doctor, but then something more important gets discussed!
--Thanks--
