Lower right abdomen hardening and discomfort

This morning I woke up with some lower left abdomen discomfort (about an inch below my navel and even with my hip) It has been an even pain - not too discomforting but noticable and definitely hurts if pressed on but I noticed that that area is very hard. (and I am not constipated) So should I just do nothing or should I go to the docs? My pulse rate is high bp is normal - I don't think I have a fever. ( I had my mom ck my bp this am before I went to work because I know that my bp was very high when my appendix ruptured and I figured if it was high then there may be something wrong) Any thoughts?
