My father is 67 years old and he has just been diagnosed with fibromyalgia. I am not so sure what does that mean, but I know that it is a severe condition. Anyway, he has been prescribed with Lyrica, and I have heard that it can impact many parts of body’s system including hormones (cortisol levels for example). Is that true?

This medicament is specialized not only for fibromylagia, but also for some other conditions lie shingles and diabetic nerve issues. And in a mixture with some other medicaments it might help people who suffer from seizures. That drug is an anticonvulsant and also affects neuropathic pain. It is still not determined how it actually works, of course there are many theories but no solid proof yet.
