Addicted to methadone 20mg to 40 mg for two months, will I have severe withdrawl? and if so for how

Got off it faithfully, BUT, very carefully.

Im coming off of 150mgs of methadone, I was detoxed 7 days (not long enough) in a hospital and taken off cold turkey. Since I have been home It has been the most horrible experience I have ever been through. Ive been doing lot of research and found out the way I was detoxed with the dose I was on I could have died.. Im feeling really hopeless, I was taking valium and xanex to "TRY" to take the edge off but needless to say I went back to the methadone but ONLY 50mgs and im going to taper from there.. This is an absolutely horrible drug!! It has ruined my life! I really dont feel like ill ever have my life back..

I used heroin for twenty years and am finally clean. methedone is a bastard and my main suggestion is don't try to rush it, use it to stabalise so you can rebiuld your life and get a clear idea of what you want to replace the drugs with, get clean friends and don't put off asking for all the help you can get. detox from meth slow as pos and watch out for danger times around 20ml and 10ml. If depression hits remember it's your brain chemicals re-balancing and talk to someone about it. best of luck take it slow and keep focused on what u whant from life
