| I have been diagnosed as having 2-3 nodules removed from the right side of my tongue 2 months ago whihc was diagnosed a mucosal neuroma (which is very rare)and some similar ones on the left side removed just yesterday. (Result not out yet).Though maxilofacial/surgeons says it is benign (not cancerous), they sent me for further test as it may be associated with a disease call MEN III (Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia Type III - Cancers of throid, adrenal) My test came back as negative (no cancers). My Endocrinologist suggests that if am very worried, to do another test and six months time to reconfirm. MEN is a genetic disease (mine got no family history). I also have very bad acid reflux for more than 10 years (GERD). It come and go, it went away for 2 years, had 5 endoscopy, last one being 2 years ago, it came back last month cos of the scare of cancer tests and skipping meals and I have stopped taking probiotics and domperidone 10mg (which did help the last 2 years to get rid of GERD) because I am afraid it is the cause of mucosal neuroma. Now I am taking it again together with Controloc 40mg daily. But it is only helping a bit. The GERD comes when I go to sleep at night and comes about 4 hrs sleep. Wakes up take medication and some food and GERD will usually go away after 12 noon. I also have anxiety for years. Now I am very afraid of dying of cancers (MEN) Can somebody out there help with MUCOSAL NEUROMA(I heard it is very rare and couldnt find any similar case in your questions and answers column) or GERD.
