SOME ONE PLEASE SHED SOME LIGHT ON THIS SITUATION BECAUSE MY HEART ISS BROKEN I WANT TO KNOW IF THERE ARE ANY LONG TERM SIDE EFFECTS FOR CHILDREN BORN ADDICTED TO METHADONE. HE IS NOW 4 MONTHS OLD AND HE SPENT 6 WEEKS IN NICU. I JUST REALLY WANT TO KNOW WHAT THE FUTURE HAS IN STORE FOR MY WONDERFUL SON

You have a long road ahead of you. My granddaughter, now 3, was born addicted to methadone and is very hyper, cannot sit still for any length of time and doesn't sleep well. You will need a lot of patience with him. My son and his wife (she was on methadone) have no one to blame but themselves for bringing this baby into the world.
Maybe a good doctor can shed some light on the subject.
They have not been able to find a good doctor to help them out.
