Hi, my grandmother had skin cancer, what are my chances to develop malignant melanoma as she has? Is there some test to determine this?

Cutaneous Malignant Melanoma is a malignancy with multiple causes. Melanoma develops as the result of the interaction between different environmental, genetic and host factors. You can decrease influence of genetic factor by avoiding exposure to sun and unhealthy rays. The measurement of sun exposure is presented everyday at weather forecast, you should follow their advice concerning exposure to the sun. Specially, if you have fair skin you need to stay away from sunlight. Influence of genetic factor on melanoma development can not be completely determined.
