When i get high in the morning, it gets me in the mood for working out. I get a better workout,more focused. I also exercise longer 30 - 45 min vs 15. Plus i am more aware of doing the exercises properly.
Crank the tunes and sweat. Feels great. |

Cannabis, a fast-growing bushy annual with dense sticky flowers, produces the psychoactive THC. It is the most widely used illegal psychoactive and has a long history of medicinal, recreational, and industrial use. The fibrous stalks of the plant are used to produce clothing and rope.
Different effects are produced depending on the quantity (how much you smoked), the species of Cannabis (sativa; indica; ruderalis), and the quality of the flowers (THC content). Do a little research on topics before you talk.
I boulder/rock climb quite a bit (I actually am addicted to it!), but I have not noticed it affecting me. And if you think that climbing is easy meathead, try it and then tell me how it went. If you smoke all day you won't want to move, but if you do it before working out in a small amount (don't get stoned out of your mind) you will be fine.
Be smart, even though THC does not compare to alcohol, you can't be high all the time. It messes with your mind too much. You were borne sober so don't try to live high. Moderate.
Dude who is 46...don't be stupid like him...he is why weed is illegal...pothead. |

[quote="dickinson"]
I really don’t know if it really can help you build some muscle, but stay away from the stuff!!! Even if it does, it ain’t worth it!! Studies have shown that marijuana lowers testosterone levels in men and lower sperm counts possibly resulting in difficulty in having children. It is a drug, you can become addicted, and it has ONLY BAD EFFECTS!!
Short term effects are: sleepiness and increased hunger; difficulty keeping track of time; reduced short-term memory; reduced ability to perform tasks requiring concentration and coordination (e.g. driving a car); increased heart rate; potential cardiac dangers for those with preexisting heart disease; bloodshot eyes; dry mouth and throat; paranoia; hallucinations
Long term effects are: enhanced cancer risk; decrease in testosterone levels in men
increase in testosterone levels in women; diminished or extinguished sexual pleasure; increased risk of infertility in both men and women; addiction; death;

Posted: 01/27/07 - 20:34 Post subject: Cannibis & Exercise - incosistant. |
|
|
As mentioned before smoking weed can bring on a feeling of increased strength and whatever else. However on the whole both from my knowledge of it medically and experience with it, it is very incosistant and in the end Cannabis is a depressant.
I have had times when doing martial arts training or weight training where without doubt I have performed better, but additionally to whatever physical effects took place, alot of it may have simply been the almost manic drive of ideas that weed brings on. However when used consistantly the facts stand.
Weed lowers testosterone in males which therefore pretty much assures less muscle mass gain, you are realistically inhaling carincogens which on the whole will make your body's systems work alot less effectivley, further it demotivates many people with continual use which obviously aint too good for someone wanting to achieve weight training goals. This is not a Weed is good weed is bad discussion, to further correct the facts.
Cannibis is NOT addictive in the way that physically addictive drugs such as heroin are... it is a very complex addiction in many cases. Some people are able to smoke it on and off or consitantly all their lives with no addiction (No im not talking every day smokers). In essence though it is the same as any drug or chemical that can alter our conscience and chemical levels in the mind body, to some degree anything can become addictive and detremental.
Long story short, in my humble opinion, try it out for yourself on the odd occasion if you feel it necessary.. but in reality you will probably have much better results eating healthily, exercising regularly and of course getting whatever sleep u need. 8 hours at least is good for any male wanting to gain muscle. Anyone with a medical background feel free to correct me on any of this.
Just my 2 c Cheers all |

| I wonder if you could show the "research" that shows that, and if it has been repeated, which might be grounds for saying it reduces testosterone.... i got incredibly strong during football season, and i worked out a good percentage of it high..... most of the time you can't lift something, its mental, you can do more, weed helps you get rid of the boundaries you set for yourself |

| the whole thing about the endorphins rushing seems true, but the difference is that natural high from running is all internal, its not from treez. its like saying that ecstacy is a good anti-depressant because it makes you feel happy. |

Posted: 02/12/07 - 20:50 Post subject: can someone overcome marijuanas long term effects? |
|
|
| i know when someone like me has beeing smoking marijuana every day for a few years, you have a hard time concentrating, have poor communication skills and usually are a little slow in the mind. i am wondering: if you quit or cut back big time later on, would those effects eventually dissapear. i am 15, and i will probably continue to smoke marijuana through highschool, and then cut back after that. i am wondering if it is POSSIBLE for someone to lose those effects after cutting back to mabee only on weekends for lets say 5 years? |
