Marital Therapy for Borderline Personality Disorder

BPD is something I will have to deal from now on, I am not sure how or if that is even possible, but I guess I have to try. I am 23 years old and I guess I have some family issues that need to be worked out. I just hope I will be able to see the end of this miserable state I am in now. I am starting with marital therapy next week, what can I expect?

Well, the word itself says a lot about the aspects of the treatment. One element is family psychoeducation and that enables family members to know a bit more about BPD, and to establish a better communication with the patient and that is all very supportive for that patient. Of course, there is sometimes an issue of overinvolvement of parents but that is dealt with too in this therapy.
