I'm not an expert, but theanine naturally relaxes you, and acts like a sedative. Melatonin is a sedative too, so I wouldn't take them together if you are taking supplements for both, that can be dangerous. But if you drink a cup of green tea along with melatonin supplementation, I would recommmend that more, it's a lot safer that way. A cup of green tea has about 50 mg of theanine.
But here's the question, how much theanine do you take?
