Memory Loss After Electric Shocks for Depression

Hello there, I am a guy who is 24 years old. We always see in movies, scenes when psychiatrists are giving treatment of electric shocks for depression. In movies, result of that treatment may be memory loss. I was always wondering if this is right or just exaggerating. I wish to thank you for your answers in advance.

Depression is pretty serious condition and many people suffer from some kind of depression. Sometimes in most extreme cases, this therapy is used. There is a slight possibility for memory loss in those cases.
