Hi. I have so many symptoms and I could‘ve picked several topics here but as my main problem is bleeding I’m posting it here. I’m an elderly woman in mid 50’s. My problems started some 3 years ago and at that time I had no idea what that was. Later I found out that it was peri-menapause was. At that time my periods became extremely heavy which caused me become anemic and even my mammogram came back abnormal. During last 3 years I visited many doctors. Each one had it’s own idea and treatment but in the end I ended up getting mammograms every 5-6 months with one side or the other with problems. But, luckily, after some time, one of the doctors advised me start a diet and prescribed some meds and that had some result - for the several months I had a normal period. I felt relieved and thought I finally “fixed the problem” but than I got another one - flooding. After reading everything I could find on this matter I figure it's the iron pills causing this. So I plan going to stop the iron pills and take yellow dock for iron. But, after having so much trouble during last 3 years, I’m scared to try anything without consulting… So, please tell me is this plan of mine a good one??
Hi. I’m very sorry to hear how much trouble you went through. I had the flooding clotting problem for a number of years myself and I know what it’s like. My dr put me on 3 iron pills a day but couldn't find anything. Afterwards my periods got closer together and then far apart. Also I feel unclean (and I know I'm not), swollen breasts and a bit of pelvic pain. So, I don’t know weather your choice is the best one… Did you consult your dr??? What does he say about it??
I too have been having some trouble. Mostly it started when I turned 40. I have always had light to regular periods with no cramping or bloating. When I turned 40 they became heavier and I had a lot of flooding, sometimes for weeks at a time. My Dr. just gave me some pills and the flooding stopped for a couple of months. But that when on and off for a few years. Now I am 45 and have not had a perion since Feb. and it is now June. I am crabby and so irritable sometimes that my son and boyfriend can hardly stand to be around me. I can't help how I am feeling. I am now having hot flashes and waking up achy almost every morning. I sleep well just I feel not like myself anymore and beginning to hate the person in the mirror for putting my loved ones through. Anyone have any suggestions? Anything would be appreciated.
