I have been suffering from acne and cysts for around two years already. To treat it, I have been using Minocin antibiotics for a year, along with some topical gel. I have to admit that sometimes my treatment goes with great results. However, I can notice these days that my acne returns, so I would like to hear what is wrong with me. Did anyone experienced something similar, because I would like to hear your opinion.

I have been using Minocin also and I was so happy with its results. I used to be on two pills a day of about 100 mgs my face was practically clear of any acne and cysts that I had. However, after about few months of being on one pill, it seems as though my acne returns. I think that was a lesser degree than originally but still it worsens. Firstly, I was wondering if it is possible that the Minocin is working and that persistent use over the years will decrease or eliminate all acne. I was always thinking that treatment does not prolong acne, but is should suppress it. When I asked my doctor, he said if two pills of Minocin worked well, I should certainly stay on that dose for a long time with little risk. I have heard that Accutane does a better job of stopping the acne indefinitely, once that patient take it for 20 weeks. Anyway, I wanted to continue with previous therapy, as I would recommend to you. I think if you were satisfied with the way you look, you should stay on Minocin.
