I have had the Mirena IUC since April 2007- I am a big girl anyway, but I got down to 195 lbs after I had my son in February. Now---- I am tipping the scales at a whopping 225 lbs. I have taken several types of appetite suppressants, I have walked, I have stopped drinking anything but water..... The scales continue to increase. What else can I do? And my husband says my mood swings are out of control!!!!! I need help. Do I need to get it removed and try something else? P.S. I already have two children borne from the pill, and I gained 60 lbs in 3 months of taking the Depo-Provera shot.

I got the Mirena in June 2006 and just had it taken out 1 week ago. I had constant yeast infections, gained 20 lbs while on it. I could not diet to save my life, I could not control my appetite. I tried excersising for months with no results. I was tired a lot, had to be put on a high dose iron supplement. The mood swings were terrible for me too and I'm usually a passive person. It has been a nightmare for me. Only pros were my periods, but I'd rather deal with the way they used to me than what I was going through with this. I know what you mean about the Depo I gained about 40 lbs on that thing.
