Mono during Pregnancy, Are there risks for the baby?

Hi, I am pregnant and I got mono infection. Is baby at risk of getting infection too? And can it be prevented?

Hi, mono is actually affecting only you and it will have no harmful affect on your baby.
Infectious mononucleosis is caused by the Epstein-Barr virus. The illness is mostly seen in adolescents and young adults. When person develops antibodies to this disease once, it gets immunity toward this condition. If your immune system is healthy, you will not have mono infection reactivated. Mononucleosis spreads mainly through saliva, so you can effect your baby when it is born. Kissing an infected person or sharing food, or just being with someone infected increases chances for developing infection. Try to apply some immune system supportive dietary supplements, in order to get protected from infectious diseases.
