Hi, My Child died in her sleep a year ago. All this time I couldn’t deal with it, but now I decided to talk about it, to make other parents realize how apnea can be serious. Is there any other parent whose child suffers from apnea?

Hi, I am very sorry for your loss. I can only imagine how you feel, but I’m scared to think about that because my daughter suffers from apnea. Sometimes, her breath stops for 15 seconds, and every time I freak out. It happens when she sleeps, when her soft tissue in the throat is relaxed. I told her doctor that I’m very afraid that she could die in her sleep, and he said that there are several ways to treat this condition. There are medications, surgery, monitoring devices and sleep centers. My daughter will have her tonsils and adenoids removed, and she will have to wear a nose mask while sleeping. A doctor said that those things will almost certain prevent fatal effect of this condition.
