Hi, my baby was born with extended scalp. I don’t really understand this expression, but it scares me. Will this go normal?

Hi, baby’s have very fragile scalp bones and they are not grown together yet. At act of birth giving sometimes if pelvic bones of the mother when mostly expanded are not making big enough hole for baby to get out, then scalp bones can go over each other to enable delivering. Perhaps, something alike happened to your baby too. Anyway, it is advisable to have x-rays for checking it. Pay additional attention when taking your baby for head and try not to give it to visitors for handling, as they are not skilled. It will grow right in time if nothing is broken or damaged. Your pediatrician is supposed to indicate to you if there is anything wrong.
