My left collarbone sticks out further than my right.

My left collarbone sticks out further and is a bit higher than my other side.I cant really say that it is painful but it often feels real tight and at times uncomfortable, especially when i sleep on that side. It's been like this for about 2 yrs. and i've been putting off on going to get it checked, but I finally made an appt. with my doctor. Is there anything you can tell me to prepare me for the visit?
