I went to my doctor the other day, and he said that it might be caused by an Inflamation, i suggest everyone here do the same.
Good Luck guys! if anyone finds anything further, please don't hesitate to share. |

I seem to be having this same problem as well, noticed it more recently as I have taken up running. Also, it feels like there might even be pressure pulling up on my left testicle. Just the other day I literally reached into my shorts as soon as I finished 3 miles and was feeling my testicle to make sure it doesn't go into my gut. The only new information that could be connected with this was a diagnosis called "vericocele". Hope someone has more info as I will be back for an answer.
Best Wishes to all.

Heck, i'm 16 and even I know this. People and their bloody penis envy. Get over it. |
Yep, I agree.
I'm studying medicine, and the penis and scrotum retract during exercise/when exposed to cold temperatures. Its a normal 'reflex' reaction. Its normal. Nothing to worry about. Happens to me and i'm sure happens to almost everyone. |

Hey, just wanted to report in.
After seeing the doctor about my problem, and about 6 months of rest, I am proud to report that I made it back to the gym this week, and have been doing fine with no irregular shrinkage.
I have yet to test out my resistance to running in the cold, but in a heated gym everything is fine, and I have been exercising more than ever now. I highly reccomend you see a doctor with your problems, everything worked out fine for me, and Im looking at making up for missed time. |

| I was relieve to see someone else with this problem. I think perhaps it is because I just started working out substantially more than I used to. Today made me nearly panic, but the workout was intense. I'm going to see the doc for another issue and I'll ask him and post some info, if appopriate. |

Good one! The answer is quite simple - it's your body being clever.
Your penis will actually shrink under various conditions - any form of exposure to cold, stress and exercise. It's all to do with your body channeling blood to where it's needed.
When you're cold, your body focuses blood flow to the critical organs. Your "Organ" is NOT critical! Because your penis is "driven" by two spongy shafts, when your body redirects your blood, these shafts are drained, causing your penis to shrink. Under stress your body redirects blood flow to where it's needed for optimal response to the situation, and when you're doing exercise, your body redirects blood-flow to your muscles. Clever, hey!?
A similar thing also happens to your scrotum, to protect your jewels. When it's cold, the skin contracts to draw them closer to your body for heat, and the opposite when it's hot. This ensures the optimal temperature is maintained, to improve sperm production. When you're stressed or in a tense situation, your scrotum will also contract, to draw the jewels closer to your body as a form of protection against possible injury from the "potential" fight that may ensue. |

I was really glad to read this thread and to find out I am not alone with this. I am 38 and have suffered terribly with this for years. It affects my self esteem so badly that it rules my whole life. I think stressing about it now causes my penis and testicles to be in an almost permanent shrunken state. The only time I feel normal is when I wake in the morning and am warm enough that everything is as it should be. I am 6 inches when erect so whilst not big, I'm pretty normal but find the whole thing with the shrinking flacid penis and testicles really depressing. I had a condition called Verocele which was operated on when I was going through puberty which may or may not be having something to do with this now.
The bottom line though is that it now puts me off sex because when aroused my testicles all but take a hike, which even in front of my partner I find really embarassing. I don't do any sport any more because of showering. I was captain of the school football team and love sport but gave it up at 17 for that very reason! I don't take my kids swimming which I feel bad about. I don't like the beach. Like I say, it has become a real mental problem for me and I really think this has made me a miserable git for far too long.
So, sorry to go on but to cut a long boring moan short, what did your doc say UltraMarcus to sort the problem out for you? I'm sure I could be a changed man if I could finally get this monkey off my back. |

So Marcus, what did the doctor say? After all the messages in this thread you are the first one with some results, why don't you elaborate?? |
