I had unprotected sex on Oct. 28. My last menstrual was on October 8. I have a 28 day cycle regularly and this time i had no period. I took an Early Response test on November 8, it came out positive. I started bleeding on November 10, I went out to CVS and bought a generic brand test, that one came out negative. Is it possible for the positive test to be wrong, since I am bleeding? Is it too early to tell since I just had sex recently?

Dear Veroriv

You probably had whats called a chemical pregnancy. You were pregnant, but lost the pregnancy very early. This is common and happens to many women, most don't even know it has happened. They ususally don't know because their period is only a couple of days late and a test was not taken.

I have had this happen several times and it is heart breaking expecially when you are trying to become pregnant. I wish you good health and better luck next time.
