Hello, my sister had problems with tonsils for a long time, so her doctor decided that those should be removed. After the successful surgery, some strange symptoms occurred. She had a 42C temperature! Doctors thought it were an infection, but when she started having muscle spasms and heart problems, she was diagnosed with malignant hyperthermia-can it be treated?

I assume that help has already been given to her and that she is all right for now. Sadly, there is no way to determine if someone has this condition until it was given total anesthesia. Your sister was lucky; sometimes that situation might end tragically. So, the only thing to do to avoid those symptoms is to stay away from total anesthesia.
