My son is ALS patient and I have no life. He has ALS for almost 2 years now (he is 2 years old), and I just cannot understand the cruelty of his situation. I am so depressed sometimes that I even think of ending my life. I cannot watch him like this. He was an active athlete before, now he is a ruin. I cannot help him. What am I to do?

I know that this is a very hard situation. I had an ALS patient in the house, my father. But, understand this – whatever the situation he is your son and he needs you the most right now. He will never get better, that is true, symptoms will become more serious. Still, help him in his fight. His mental state might stay balanced all the way. Not loosing himself is the only way to maintain his quality of life, no matter how long will it be.
