Posted: 01/12/07 - 22:18 Post subject: My son maybe never finished puberty? |
|
|
| My son is came to me with a very embarrasing topic. He told me that he thinks his puberty never really finished. He's 18 and he's never been very hair. Just a slight amount of hair on his legs and hardly any on his arms. I figured, "No big deal, he's just not a hairy guy." But, he just told me that his testicles never dropped during what little puberty he went through. His voice is lower than mine, but it just seems so strange that he never "finished" puberty. I was wondering if I should take him to a doctor or what? |

it could mean 2 things, but proably the latter in your case. when boys are born their testicles are infact inside the body, and by the age of 1 (ish) they will decend ("drop") into the scrotum.
The other thing that happens, at puberty is that your testicles and scrotum get bigger and therefore because of the weight and extra space it all hangs lower and give the impression that your "balls" have droped. this is one of the early signs of puberty not always noticed untill it actually happens! |

as long as his testicles have dropped from inside his body, then there shouldnt be anything to worry about. Everyone is differnt some guys hang really low, others tight to their body (my self bbeing one of the latter) Chances are they did "drop" but just not as much as some and may not have been that noticble. If your both really worried then perhaps a trip to the doctor who can have a look and confrim if all is ok or not. But from the info here it all seems to be ok. If you do take him, make sure you give HIM the option to either go in alone or with you. |
