Mycoplasma infection

Hi, my son got mycoplasma infection in school from the other kids. It lasts already 10 days, and it’s not improving too much. How much time is normal for this infection to last?

Hello, I had mycoplasma infection. I remember I had fever and sore throat, and I couldn’t stop caughting. My symptoms lasted for three weeks, so you shouldn’t be so worried because your son has them for 10 days. They will probably go away soon. I was on antibiotic treatment. I used erythromycin, because I was allergic to the other drugs. Mycoplasma infection is respiratory illness that easily spreads, so make shore that your son covers your face when coughing or sneezing. There are some possible consequences of mycoplasma infection. For example, I had an inner ear problem because of this infection, which lasted even longer that mycoplasma itself.
