NJ tube placement checks versus NG tube placement check

I have a patient that has a NJ tube. Is there a difference in verifying the placement of a NJ tube? Do you aspirate for stomach contents like you would with a NG tube. For some reason I thought you still instill air, but are not to aspirate contents since the NJ tube is place in the small intestine.
