Lately, upon wakening, I've been experiencing numbness on the roof of my mouth near my tonsils. The sensation goes away once I get up and move around, but it's still very disconcerting. Does this happen to anyone elase?

for the past week i have had this numbing and tingling on the roof of my mouth near the tonsils. What can it be? I smoke and chew gum at the same time, does it have anything to do with it? Please help me figure it out.
