I’m off for some remedy, maybe natural expectorant, but I’m not sure what to look for… but I have you, guys So, come on, suggest some natural expectorants ‘cos I won’t be able to stand there at pharmacist’s and talk without interruptions from this crazed coughs!! (Thank you, Internet, for not having to speak this out!)

Anyway, I suggest you go for Elecampane or Horehound. Both are natural expectorants and both help your respiratory system quite well. Your grandpa has certainly used horehound, it’s herbal remedy used by many generations, because it is compounded with marrubiin, which stimulates bronchial secretions. And, yes, you should really go for natural expectorant, since over-the-counter expectorant cough remedies just deal with the symptoms, but the real problem is not addressed. Drop me an email when you get home – just to be sure that they’ve not given you NAC (N-Acetyl-Cysteine)…
