I had a medical abortion in mid jan. i had some bleeding right after, lasted about 8days, 2 days later i started beelding again (after i was back on birthcontrol) i went off birthcontroll after i had been bleeding for about 5days, the bleeding lightend up but still went on for about 3 days.
I use the patch and i just took of my last one on monday, its not thursday and i hav not started my period yet, is this common after a medical abortion? ive never been regular, bleeding usualy starts 2-3 days after i take off the patch, but any advise would be helpful, thanks |

EARLIER on you should not have removed your birth control..
Bleeding after medical abortion is a LOT heavier and longer than surgical abortion, which is why I prefer surgical in the first place.
Because of starting BC for a few days, having an abortion, etc... You can possibly expect to miss a period this month.
You should still put your new patch on at the normal time though.
DID you go back for your follow up after the abortion? Medical abortion fails more often than surgical abortion, and bleeding is not necessarily a sign that it was 'done'. |
