Hi. I have fibroids and I will need to undergo hysterectomy. I am really scared. I would like to know more about hyst. How is it performed? How long it will take to recover after the surgery? Will I still have periods after hysterectomy?
Hi. I had to undergo hysterectomy (cancer) and I feel very depressed now. I can`t have babies and I am only 32 years old. You didn`t say what kind of a hysterectomy you will have, abdominal or vaginal. Abdominal hysterectomies are done by cutting the abdomen, vaginal by cutting the vagina. Abdominal hysterectomies require longer recovery time (2 months). After vaginal hyst, you will need one or two weeks to recover. You can`t have periods after hyst. A hysterectomy will stop it. If your ovaries are removed, you will enter menopause.
