Nerve pain continuing after back surgery for spinal stenosis

I had an x-stop device (Interspinous Process Decompression) implanted, 7 weeks ago, for Lumbar spinal stenosis. I still feel some pain from the nerve damage. Is this normal? How long does it take, if ever, for this pain to go away?
