One week after partial hysterectomy I have gas attacks Help!

I had surgery one week ago I must say my surgery went well I haven't had any pain since leaving the hospital in reagrds to the incision area. However, I am afraid to eat anything beyond jello, fruit cups or soup of which I am sick of because I don't know what will give me gas or backed up bowels. This has been my main complaint. I get gas that is in my back and across my stomach area and feels like a continual contraction during labor with no relief. I have discovered that an enema will give me immediate relief plus a mild laxative. How long will I endure this. Will I be able to eat good food without fear? Has anyone else experienced thiis?
