| I am a 25 yo Male who has expereinced the above mentioned symptoms today. Yesterday I ate a whole jar of nuts (Cashews, Psitacios, and Almonds). Can I safely assume this is the cause? And why did it occurr? |

| I have been having this same problem again. I had this about a year ago and yesterday it came back. It lasted on about a day last time, but today I still have it. I am planning on going to the doctor tomorrow and am glad there are other people having this same problem. No one I have talked to seem to have this problem either. It is very bad b/c when you feel you have to pass gas, you have to be careful. Does anyone know if I SHOULD go to the doctor or is there any reason to get this checked out. I mean, it isn't NORMAL! The only thing I can think of lately that might have triggered it would be cashews, Taco Bell, or Chik-Fil-A. Could greasy foods be the cause? Someone help me! How will I know if this will come back? |

I'm 21 this year and have experienced orange oil in my stools twice already. Same thing, the orange oil is also secreted when I pass gas and it stinks really badly.
I'm not sure if there's any relations but I had a dinner of only beef, chicken, pork, and fish, all meat, one day before the incident.
It appeared to have gone away the whole of yesterday but when I went to the toilet just now I found oil in my stool again.
It doesn't help that my period is 2 weeks late too.
Does anyone have any answers yet?
PS, I'm from South-East Asia. |

"passing of gas accompanied by oil and orange oil droplets in stool"
That's due to malabsorption. I had this symptoms for about 4-5 days. What I thought was helpful was to change my diet to a less-oil diet. There isn't any medication that would help. My doctor told me that it would be gone by itself. For personal hygene, I used pads. That was the only way I could think of to keep myself clean. |

| Hello. I am having the same thing - just started yesterday. I haven't eaten fish for days, maybe even weeks. I have had some nuts, but that is all. I've never experienced anything like this in my life - orange droplets that float to the top of the water. Has anyone heard back from their doctor? I am a very healthy 31-year-old female. What is going on??? I live in Seattle, WA. |

| The orange oil may be excess fat that your body is passing. This is a side affect of Alli which I am taking and the same thing has happened to me. It's the extra fat that your body doesn't need. For you, it's happening naturally, for me it's because of Alli. If I ate better, it wouldn't happen. |

| I am takin g the product "Alli" which is an in hibitor which blocks the absorbtion of fat in the intestinal tract. It is a diet aid along with a low fat diet. They mentioned the side effects included oily stool, oily spotting and I notice orange oil spots along with the BM as well...so, sounds like mal-absorbtion to me but you should still seek PROFESSIONAL medical advice! |

I think that excess oils and fats may be the problem, and the body may just be trying to get rid of them. Quite a few of you ate a lot of nuts before it happened. I have just started a vegan diet rich in nuts, and I have started having the same problem.
I feel better now that I know it happened to others who ate a lot of nuts.
Nuts are very oily and fatty. It makes sense. |
