Overlapping Symptoms-How to make proper diagnosis?

It seems that lot of people that suffer from fibromyalgia are often misdiagnosed with chronic fatigue or and verse. I guess there are lots of overlapping symptoms, but how to make proper diagnose then?

You are right; fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue are part of an overlapping syndrome of disorders that affect a lot of people. Their symptoms ranging from fatigue to irritable bowel to headaches are often difficult to discern from each other. However, people who have fibromyalgia may simply be hypersensitive to heat, noise, odors, bright lights and pain and often have multiple tender points throughout their body.
