hi everyone, if you are reading this then thankyou VERY much,
im a 15 year old boy and i have a kind of embarrasing problem, but since there are quite a few people here with similairly embarassing problems it feels a bit more comfortable talking here.

what happened was; i was hit in the testicles with a football a few days ago, which seemed funny at the time, but this morning i woke up with an incredibly itchy scrotum and it is very red and sore. i have never encountered anything like this before, i am hoping someone knows what this could be and will help relieve some stress. i would go to the doctor but i am a bit embarrased, mainly because my mum is one of the nurses there.
thank you for taking the time to read this x

Hi! I find this weird because you didn’t experience the symptoms straight after the trauma but some days after.
And the symptoms resemble infection or inflammation more than trauma.

I know that an inflammation of the epididymis, a tubal structure that lies on top and at the back of your testicle, may be caused by trauma as well. It is usually caused by gastrointestinal or sexually transmitted bacteria but it may also appear following injury.

Some of the most common symptoms would be pain/discomfort in the testicles, swelling of the infected testicle, testicular lump, swelling of the groin, pain during urination, pain during ejaculation, pain aggravated by passing stool, etc
Of course, not all symptoms are usually present.

Itchiness, redness and soreness also resembles yeast infection, so I reckon you have no other alternative but talk to your parents and if you don’t know your mom’s colleagues to know, see if you could go anywhere else.

Epididymitis needs to be treated, so it would progress and overgrowth of the yeast should be too.

Of course, it could be nothing of these two conditions, maybe just an irritations after the trauma and I am sure a doctor could tell just by looking and examining them.

P.S. Yes, it could be especially contact dermatitis! You need to see a doc anyway!

after reading your response i found some E45 dermitilogical cream, i had it in the cupboard from when my sister had dermititus (non-contact).
I applied it to the "problem area" and the redness and soreness has gone away. although it is still a little itchy. i will keep appying it a few times a day and hopefully it should go away. PROBLEM SOLVED
thank you very much x
